This post is in regards to matches.

Why oh why, when I join a stream some people just don't give a shit and play the match the way the want to and totally ignore everything that is going on in the game? It feels like I'm watching a public game. This is no joke, and it's getting really annoying watching some of you people.

When I join a competitive 6 vs 6 stream, I expect a competitive 6 v 6 stream. Not a fucking public game. If I wanted to watch a pub, I'd join a god damn pub. I expect more out of many of you. You call yourselves competitive NS2 players and it's very embarrassing seeing the way people listen to others when calls are being made.

I tend to give up after 2-3 minutes because so many people just don't give a shit. All of you have heard me screaming during a stream. And to be honest, I've been holding back. If i could call someone out I would, but we saw what happened to lucky chams when I did that. I hurt peoples feelings over the internet I guess.

I'm watching streams to win. It's a competitive 6 v 6 environment, why wouldn't you want to as well?

The lack of communication during streams is hilarious. It feels like 1-2 people talking and every body else is just silent and expects to be hand fed. You need to use your fucking microphone and talk to the team. I hate trying to read minds and know what the fuck I'm about to watch into when I watch shit.

Blatantly ignoring calls. This is another one that seems to happen more than anything. Just from what I've noticed. A call will be made and everyone will ignore it except maybe 1-2 people. What the fuck? WHY?! I have seen streams get destroyed because of this. Some of you people need to get a head on your shoulders and stop relying so hard on other players to pick of the slack for you.

If you need help understanding how to listen to a call or pressing a key down to talk on teamspeak, just as me and I'll walk you through it. I'll be over here if you need me.

The quality of matches has always been this low. You aren't going to solve anything by telling them to listen to calls. The general mindset of an average match player is abysmal and it will stay that way because matches aren't taken seriously.

After captaining several teams, it becomes apparent that in general the majority doesn't play them to improve, but to play casually for their own entertainment. If I were wrong, then people would listen to calls and we'd see a drastic increase of higher level players over the year, wouldn't we?

What did I just read? I know what you're trying to say, just came out weird.

All I'm trying to say is that people can play matches in a competitive manner instead of acting like it's a pub. I join streams expecting higher level of play than pubs, and it turns out to be slightly better than pubs, but not much more.

I guess all I'm asking is I just want people to try. Games are much more enjoyable when everyone on the team is trying to win and succeed. Regardless whether you win or lose, as long as there's effort it's way much more enjoyable than watching a bunch of mutes who do their own thing.

And in response to evisuup: I don't see how scrimming has anything to do with the post at hand. But just to enlighten you. We are always looking for a scrim. Just have to message one of us. Don't wait for us to be the initiators in every scrim/pcw you want to get from us.

as a gather player transitioning to teams, the amount of shit people are calling out is actually rather overwhelming (MAYBE THIS HAD TO DO WITH PLAYING WITH SCHU). there's a certain lingo that you use which i started to understand only after a match or two: "that lerk is lit" "i chipped 2 skulks in west" "2 bites on marine next to pg" etc etc. there's acutally a lot of information being shared which i think you might take for granted. also im sure youre used to prem teamwork which is probably way more strategic and focused.

also herakles:
i think when we played with "Mega" that might have put a REAL bad taste in your mouth, it certainly did for me. i also remember playing another game with you where we had an especially unorganized group of players running around with their heads cut off. im sure these 2 scrims influenced this post, and i just wanted to say that a lot of my stream experiences have been really positive and even when i lose my games i felt like it wasnt a complete stomp, but one team got a slight edge on another which lead them to a VICTORY.

Funny how people keep saying that yet they keep coming back here lol

While the game has declined, there is still a competitive scene and there are matches happening every now and then, it's still far from dead. Maybe you should find something better to do than post in the forums of a game you consider dead?

I assume alot of people that play ns2 actually have a fucking life and like to spend the last few hours of the day relaxing and playing some NS2.

After a 10 hour day of getting up early to take kids to school, working/running a business, getting home feeding everyone and yourself, cleaning the shit hole house then washing and preparing to do it all again the next day - Yeah i might miss a call or two and tbh i couldn't give a fuck

I agree with herakles but I also disagree.

It makes a obvious point that the people are suppose to take a game seriously in a competitive gather's because people who are most experienced play there and they want more of a competitive game so they can be better, but the same reason is for the new people who are just starting the gathers.

The newcomer's join the gather's to play with better people because they want to get better because pubs are getting too easy for them... good point but that's not the only reason why they are not communicating, I mean people also come here to learn from the best or more experienced players and listen to them while taking their orders because that's how the newcomers learn, at that point is where I think the "Less communication" comes from.

If the experienced player is flaming at a certain newcomer or just flaming at the team there will be a bad influence or you will just give them less moral to tale the game seriously, they will begin to talk less and also ignore commands, because that's how people are sadly.

So what my point is that flaming or raging at team mates wont help, it's more fun playing with people who enjoy the game while taking a competitive game than with a player that yells at their team mates.

But as I said this is just my opinion and thought so don't take it personally but I totally agree with you Herakles about this topic that people do need to communicate more for a good teamwork.

First off this is a troll thread. Secondly if you're talking about the gather last night with tap then let's just say tap is a man with alot at stake. In general there isn't much flaming in gathers unless you have some very particular players on your team.
