tbh Jaro IS hell of annoying and I did mute him, too. But a 6 month ban is a bit harsh...if not totally ridiculous.
Since everyone noticed enforcing rules is a bit harder without players left; that's why many people who ruined gathers got away freely. I think I might be able to list about 20 people who went emo in the past 3 months (me included). And even though Jaro might have ruined some more gathers than others, banning him for 6 months is way over head

Jaro was never like that with me, in fact, I've had SHITLOADS of unsubordinated players fading instead of dropping the hive, ignoring the commander completely and that stuff...
I'm not defending him completely, he's stupid I know, but he's harmless. I don't know, if we're all objective here, he shouldn't be banned but rather ban the first who did it.

95% of the time I argue with someone, is because they fuck up and won't recognise their mistake. Remember when retry made a post asking about tactical placement of the marines in acidic? It all happened in a gather.
That's when I become irritant. I don't mind when somebody can't kill 5 skulks, because of their shit aim or whatever, but it gets on my nerves when I say "I told you to go to this place and you go around, why?" "Because there was someone chasing me!?" Or some stupid reason.
Some comm sold the obs in base or didn't beacon at time, or placed a phasegate in a shit location KNOWING that it's WRONG... (you can be that guy, right beefcake?)
But again, I don't know about this issue with Jaro. I know him, he's dumb, but again, harmless. Like Forrest Gump. Maybe he went to the darkside or something, he, honestly, never did that to me.
hm I had smth like that in russian ns community, I was doing evrth for old players, many new players that seemed stupid were banned. But then lots of old players were bored by NS as a game and left. Result: no new players and not enough old - community is dead. Pls be carefull.

This is bullshit, and you have trouble with your memory after few hours. Truth story was that captain was Danny and the captain didnt type player to say tactic. I said in TS that i want perm gorge /lerk, if i good remember danny said that's ok. After they start blame me they said that pawn player - tomato - made a tactic. I didnt knew about that. Lowdown is that Captain didnt typed someone to do tactic, and also captain didnt.

Admin voting is a flawed idea. Democracy has its inherent problems. Read about public choice theory if you're interested. I don't mind admins getting some incencitives for doing the right calls but the problem is really a lack of candidates. Besides, you can never please everyone.
As for Jaro. I don't know if he has done recently something horibul but I don't find him that annoying, to be honest I've seen a lot of others who are far beyond him. Atleast he commands, not a lot of people can be arsed to do that. Whats the big deal.

i'd say it's more like bad managming of this league compared to other leagues like esl or clanbase will scare them off more likely than just one troll.
i think you've never been to any other bigger competitive community than ns one, so you simply have no idea what would be going on there and how admins deal with certain a lot bigger problems than those small ones you fail to deal with, without using finall methods such as bans.
you're still talking about ns communities and they were always small. clanbase's and esl's policy is clearly saying no to small communities like ns in general.

The ban stays and hopefully it will serve as a warning to everybody. I don't feel like his post was anything like an apology or an admission of guilt and I believe that a large portion of his behaviour is deliberate rather than misguided. I was very prepared to reduce it to three months but his post contains nothing that would make me reconsider. It doesn't address in any way the complaints made about him except that he denies it completely without any substance to support it.
The ban is six months because of the ban evasions on his record. Deliberately avoiding bans is unacceptable and he's fortunate to not have a longer ban.
Let's hope that when the ban runs its course, he might treat gathers with a little more respect.
