Can I disable my own shooting sound so that I cant hear myself shooting? Would this be concidered an unfair advantage?

I would consider this an unfair advantage tbh... but if it became an option to toggle it on/off... well. I would use it for sure.

You could always use an equalizer to mute certain frequency ranges. Although this would obviously mute everything within the given range and you may lose something like skulk footsteps...

Pretty sure 100% of skulks wait for marines to fire before they move at some point in almost every round. So this sounds ridiculous

Seeing how reliant marines are on sound cues, this would be broken as f.

OP does not want to deactivate the sound for all players but for himself. In this case he would not hear himself firing but other players would not notice a difference. If it was an option in menu he could just switch between sound / no_sound depending on the team he plays on. Just as a heads up.

This idea is super OP in favor of the marine. Like Joshhhy said marines are very reliant on sound cues.

Reconsider the consequences. I understood perfectly.
